Quick Tap Service

An amicable partnership between Orange and Barclaycard has brought the Quick Tap contactless payments service to the carrier’s Samsung Galaxy S3 customers. Users wielding the smartphone in question and carrying a UK Visa card or MasterCard can use this functionality to make contactless mobile payments in the country.

Starting just today, buyers purchasing the S3 from Orange shops, telesales or through the official website can make safe and comfortable contactless payments. Users simply need to tap their phones on a payment terminal while buying products worth up to £20.

Tom Gregory, Head of Digital Payments, Barclaycard, cited, “Barclaycard is committed to making paying for things faster, safer and easier. With the launch of Quick Tap payments on the Samsung Galaxy SIII, Barclaycard is bringing a safe and secure new way to pay to customers of all UK banks. Mobile payments are safe and have a full fraud guarantee and we’ve seen ever growing numbers of people using contactless to make quick and secure payments of up to £20.”

To avail of the scheme, customers need to download an application and activate the Barclaycard service. The carrier is also offering £50 payment free to consumers who opt for the package between September 5 and October 5. Both new and upgraded customers can take advantage of this facility.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 with Quick Tap support can be picked up from the network operator’s official website, telesales and retail outlets. The cost will be attached to Pay Monthly plans that bring unlimited talk time, messages and 1GB data for a monthly rental of £36.
