Samsung and Android maintain top OEM and OS positions: comScore

comScore Report

The results of the comScore November 2011 research about mobile phone trends in the U.S. reveal that like the previous month, Samsung has retained its topmost position among the various OEMs existing currently. Also, Android has once again emerged as the most used OS with 46.9 percent market share.

This study was conducted by the comScore MobiLens service and took into account over 30,000 mobile subscribers in the U.S. The research was done within a three month period from August to November and during this time, 234 million U.S. citizens above the age of 13 owned mobile phones.

Going by the rapid rate at which Samsung has been manufacturing new devices, it’s no surprise that the company was ranked as the top OEM by occupying 25.6 percent of the market share. It was followed by LG and Motorola that individually registered 20.5 and 13.7 percent share. Apple and RIM grabbed the fourth and fifth positions with 11.2 and 6.5 percent shares, respectively.
