Online retailer Rogers has announced the availability of the BlackBerry Torch 9860 on sale. It can now be bought online for a price of $199 with a three year plan.
Embedded with a 5MP camera, the smartphone equips a 3.7-inch TFT LCD touchscreen possessing a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The display is powered by Liquid Graphics while the camera possesses LED flash and is capable of 720p video recording. The device runs on a 1.2GHz processor and incorporates 768MB of RAM.
This handset is fueled by the latest BlackBerry 7 Operating System and provides support for Wi-Fi. Its 1230mAh battery is capable of offering up to six hours of talk time. The smartphone weighs 135g and measures 120mm x 62mm x 11.5 mm. It features an accelerometer sensor for auto-rotate along with a proximity sensor for auto turn-off.
Accompanied by a 3.5mm audio jack, this latest BlackBerry device can provide memory of up to 32GB with a microSD card. The GPRS and Bluetooth enabled handset includes functionalities like support for NFC, Document viewer, BlackBerry maps and a digital compass. The device includes BlackBerry Travel for helping users to plan, book, manage and share their travel itinerary and feature Open GL for supposedly enhanced gaming experience.
Just a couple of days back the availability of the BlackBerry Torch 9810 at AT&T stores was announced. The handset is said to be a successor of the previously popular BlackBerry Storm and Storm 2 smartphones, although it features somewhat similar hardware specs as those inside RIM’s latest BlackBerry OS 7-based devices.
