iPhone 5 to arrive for Sprint in October?

iPhone 5 Sprint rumor

After the widespread speculation regarding the launch dates of the much awaited iPhone 5, rumors regarding its carriers are gaining strength. The smartphone which appears to be releasing on October 7 is now being said to arrive for Sprint in mid October.

If it turns out to be true, this would mean that three carriers namely AT&T, Verizon and Sprint would be coming out with the iPhone 5. As per Engadget WSJ sources say Sprint will also be selling the iPhone 4 at a lower price around the same time. The arrival of the fifth smartphone in the series will apparently start a network competition between these U.S. carrier giants to get the largest share of the ‘Apple’ pie.

It’s supposed that the iPhone 5 will operate on Apple’s dual-core A5 processor and feature an 8MP camera along with iOS 5. It is also believed to come equipped with panorama photography functionalities and the voice-based navigation system. While some speculate that the design will be similar to that of its predecessor, others suggest that it will have a slimmer form.

Sprint is the country’s third largest wireless service provider and it looks like it is pinning its hopes on this new iPhone to up its sales. Although the launch date itself has not been confirmed, most sources claim that it will be somewhere in the first week of October. Reportedly it was a tie between the seventh and a week later on October 14. However, taking into consideration the smooth functioning of the smartphone’s pre-mass production stages, Apple is said to have gone with the former.
