Reliance Jio Chat app now available in 9 countries

Reliance Jio Chat is now accessible on a global scale, with the instant messaging app available in 9 countries worldwide. The list consists of the US, the UK, India, South Africa, Canada, China, Australia, the UAE and Singapore.

To recall, Reliance Jio Chat went live only for Indian users back in April this year. The company hopes the move towards international markets will help it boost its presence abroad. The expansion also allows people to communicate with friends and family who are located overseas, pitting the application directly against other tools like WhatsApp and Skype.

Jio Chat is a free app which is compatible with the Android and iOS platforms. It comes with various features such as the ability to draw doodles and make voice, video and conference calls. The application has been developed keeping unreliable or spotty networks in mind. It comes with a chat offline feature which stores messages when there’s no coverage.

The backed-up messages get forwarded once the user is back online. The Reliance product further provides consumers with 100 free SMSes per month. Jio Chat additionally offers a Channels window where people can follow topics like celebrities, news, promotions, Bollywood and cricket.
