RayForce space shooting game lands on the App Store

RayForce

The latest title to debut on the iOS platform is the freshly announced RayForce space shooting game. Functional on the iPhone 3GS, 4 and 4S, this adventure title is a combination of classic arcade game play and new smartphone exclusive gaming components.

This is the first installment of an upcoming game series trilogy which will include its sequels namely, RayStorm and RayCrisis. Developed by Taito Corporation, it could evoke nostalgic feelings in avid gamers who must have played this title in arcades when it had released 19 years ago in 1993.

Featuring a vivid art style and game design, RayForce lets players combat the genocidal artificial intelligence force that has been threatening human existence with lock-on laser weapons. The game comes incorporated with a number of intuitive smartphone controls which can be employed by players to guide their X-Lay fighter via simple sliding gestures.

Gamers have an option of indulging in this space shooting title either via the original arcade aspect ratio or full screen zoomed mode. Integrated with Game Center support, this offering includes stage-specific global rankings. Moreover, it allows users to not only shoot with manual weapon controls such as a toggle and fire buttons, but also avail of automatic firing if they do not want any buttons getting in their way and wish to play with a single finger.

The RayForce space shooting game can now be downloaded from the App Store for a price of $12.
