Yet another device to have emerged from the CES 2012 is the freshly declared Plextor PlexEasy external DVD/CD burner. Users can easily back up information from tablets, smartphones and cameras on this portable peripheral without having to execute the function via a PC.

This compact 8X DVD/CD writer is capable of connecting directly to a number of gadgets which include mass storage as well as Picture Transfer Protocol devices like cameras, smartphones, tablets and camcorders. It comes integrated with an in-built SD/MMC card reader and a USB connector.

Owners of point-and-shoot or DSLR cameras and iOS, Android, BlackBerry or such other smartphones are enabled to burn pictures directly from this device without having to use a computer or learn complicated software systems. All they have to do is connect the device, insert a disc and then click on the button to burn a backup.

Developed by Plextor, the peripheral is compatible with almost all kinds of mass storage devices and facilitates connections with MP3 players, flash drives and external hard disks as well, besides smartphones and tablets. It possesses optical drive technology and lets users transfer videos, music, movies, photos and such other data from a device to a DVD/CD or from an SD card to an external storage gadget. Users can also duplicate the data in an easy and quick manner by navigating the intuitive menu.
