Motorola Spice Key scheduled to debut in Chile

Following the Hong Kong availability announcement of the Motorola XT615, another smartphone from the company’s stable, the Motorola Spice Key is scheduled to arrive in Chile. Powered by the Android 2.3 OS, it gives users the option of typing in text through the embedded 2.8-inch QVGA touchscreen display or the full QWERTY keyboard.

This newly unveiled mobile device employs the Moto Switch user interface and operates on a 1420mAh battery. Owners can avail of 8 hours of talk time or 30 days of standby time provided by the Motorola handset when it is used over 3G. It comes equipped with a 3MP rear facing primary camera and lends support for Exchange corporate mail.

“With this announcement, Motorola seeks to complement its smartphone portfolio with a functional device that delivers a great multimedia experience for all users. With Spice Key we are delivering devices that offer constant connectivity, entertainment and productivity, all in a modern and elegant design,” elaborated Fernando Sanchez, general manager for Mobile Devices, Motorola Mobility Chile.

The GPS-enabled smartphone boasts of expandable internal memory of up to 32GB and is capable of lending support to Wi-Fi. It comes preloaded with a suite of Google Mobile applications such as Google Maps with navigation, Google Talk and many more.

Although the Motorola Spice Key will be arriving in Chile soon, details regarding its release date and price in the country have not yet been disclosed.
