The Pioneer AVIC-F970BT car entertainment system has made its debut and it offers quite an irresistible deal for iPhone users in India. Basically, this is the first device to have support for Apple CarPlay in the country, but it doesn’t come cheap.
The official price tag for the Pioneer AVIC-F970BT is a whopping Rs 39990 and you will not be getting an ordinary entertainment system, but a feature packed device loaded with everything from a touchscreen to navigation to voice assistance. Apple CarPlay made its debut over a year back and it enables some great capabilities for iPhone users.
By simply hooking up your iPhone 5 or a later model (iPhone 6 and 6 Plus also supported) to the device via a lightning cable, you’ll be able to respond to messages through voice, accept incoming calls, get navigation via maps and even access your entire iTunes library.

The AVIC-F970BT features a 6.2-inch touchscreen for accessing features. And so that you’re not distracted while on the road, Pioneer has thrown in a microphone which allows you to access Siri to get stuff done. Other attributes of the system include Bluetooth, RCA pre-out, Mirrorlink, Mixtrax and 2 USB ports.
If you’ve got the cheaper AVH-X8690BT system installed already, there’s no need to upgrade to the new release. The company also revealed that a firmware update will bring Apple CarPlay support to this device and the new software can be downloaded online and manually installed via a USB flash drive.
