The Sony SRS-X11 and SRS-X55 portable speakers have made their way into India officially and offer rich audio output in portable packages and at attractive prices. The former device is the cheaper option at Rs 5490, while the latter model will set you back by Rs 16990.
The Sony SRS-X11 was launched earlier this year and is also the smaller of the two devices. It features a cube design with dimensions of 61 x 61 x 61mm and weighs just 215 grams. And adding to its portability is a silicon strap which allows you to hook it up to a bag or belt. The device has an output of 10W and carries 1 full range satellite speaker.
Additionally, Sony allows you to connect two of these units together for a stereo sound experience and deeper bass. The device connects to your smartphone or other gadgets over Bluetooth and pairing is made simple through the addition of NFC. Also, there’s a built-in microphone here for hands-free calling.

You’ll also be able to hook it up to other devices via the 3.5mm audio jack. And a single charge of the Lithium-ion battery can deliver an impressive 12 hours of playback time. Like the SRS-X11, the SRS-X55 also made its debut during the CES 2015 expo and it packs a lot more oomph whilst maintaining a compact design.
This Sony speaker system has a rectangular design and weighs 1.2kg. It offers a 2.1 channel setup through dual 38mm speakers and a subwoofer of 58mm. And the total power output here is 30W. The company’s own audio enhancements including S-Master, DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) and ClearAudio+ can also be found here.
Even this system functions over Bluetooth and has NFC as well as a microphone built-in. A 2200mAhmAh battery has been employed and it can deliver a pretty good 10 hours of playback on a single charge.
The Sony SRS-X11 and SRS-X55 portable speakers are already available for purchase in India through retail stores and ecommerce websites.
