It seems like the blue-hued Samsung Galaxy S III is experiencing unexpected demand issues, which is why it may not be shipping to some places initially. This situation will apparently affect the first phase of launches that are scheduled to take place worldwide.

Following the unveiling ceremony, the smartphone was said to be made available in 2 color choices of pebble blue and marble white. However, the first group of users laying hands on the device could just have only the latter color option. The countries with shipment shortages are speculated to include the Nordic nations, Europe, Asia-Pacific and Persian Gulf states.

Retailers are citing high demand for the blue version to be the core reason for the likely unavailability of this variant. In other words, sales channels are of the opinion that orders for the pebble blue version are surpassing its supplies. According to a post on Engadget, Vivian Peters who is a correspondent with Samsung Benelux, informed Tweakers.net that the blue units will not be up for sale in the Netherlands till June.

Some stories suggest that defects found in the backplates of the device’s blue plastic may be the cause of the shortage, though they are not confirmed as yet. Notably, the UK launch which is scheduled for May 30 should be unaffected, as there are no talks of similar issues surfacing in this particular country.

Only time will tell if the pebble blue Samsung Galaxy S III will reach prospective users or not. Till then, avid fans of the handset can just take the situation lightly as there’s no official word attached to it as yet.
