Pantech WPP-8000 Wi-Fi enabled phone announced

Pantech WPP-8000 phone Pantech unveiled a new mobile phone called the WPP-8000 phone in Korea. The new device is the company’s first mobile phone to equip Wi-Fi connectivity.

Released via LG Dacom, the Pantech WPP-8000 phone uses the LG Dacom’s myLG070 service that should allow users to connect to the internet via a wireless LAN connection (called iHub). It provides high-speed internet connectivity as well as improved voice and data services.

The Pantech WPP-8000 phone allows users to access web via LAN that would provide information on news, weather and stock without any additional data charges.

The new Pantech phone features caller ID and supports text messages. As of now, not many details are available about the specifications of the phone. With looks of a simple phone with a small screen size, the Pantech phone manages to wrap in various useful features and functions.

There is no word on availability and price of the phone as yet.
