Pandora service free for Sprint customers

Pandora and Sprint logo Sprint customers will surely have a blast this Christmas and can dance on the popular tunes. Pandora made a big announcement just before the Christmas saying that its personalized Internet radio service will now be available on more than 20 Sprint mobile phones for free.

This news will bring an additional joy to the Sprint mobile users. Until now Pandora users on Sprint paid $2.99 every month to access this service. This service will be made available to all the Sprint customers having compatible handsets and a Sprint data plan. The Pandora service is also available on few select Windows Mobile devices.

“This is a very significant move for Sprint and for the mobile industry more broadly,” adds Tim Westergren, Founder of Pandora. “Internet radio is rapidly expanding off the desktop and we’re thrilled that we can now offer Pandora for free to Sprint’s customers”.

Users can enjoy their favorite songs on Pandora radio, they can enter a song or artist of their choice and within few seconds Pandora will generate a personalized radio station that will continuously play the songs of that artist. These songs are selected based on the Music Genome Project that uses highly trained musicians to analyze songs one at a time. The users can also refine the music with their thumbs up or down and can also pause or skip any song which they don’t like. Users can also create their own station. Information on the song like its title, album and artists is displayed on the screen. The users can also bookmark songs to their favorite list.

The Sprint users can save up to 100 stations that can be saved in user’s account and can be enjoyed online or on their mobile phones for free.
