Mail on Ovi available worldwide by Nokia

Ovi and nokia logo People using Nokia Series 40 devices can now create their own email address from their device directly. Mail on Ovi will provide this service which does not require user to connect to their PC. The users can create this email address from anywhere which saves their time.

The Ovi email will provide all the features and functions similar to the PC-based email account. This service was initially provided to India, Malaysia and Philippines. This service has been a huge success and following this success Nokia is making this service available world wide. Nokia has launched more than 35 devices based on Nokia Series 40 and it will allow an immediate creation Mail on Ovi email account.

“We’re creating a mindset shift with mobile messaging. Mail on Ovi is the first-ever email service which allows people to create an account directly on their mobile phone, and start using it right away” remarks Senior Vice President Tom Furlong, who oversees Consumer Messaging initiatives within Nokia’s Services & Software organization. “Rather than focusing purely on push email for the world’s most advanced mobile users, we are mobilizing email across Nokia’s mainstream device portfolio, while giving consumers in emerging markets their first email account, Mail on Ovi, as well as their very own internet identity. These people are the new ‘mobile digital natives’ who will exclusively use their mobile phones for email and internet, rather than a PC.”

Customers can select from 12 different languages depending on their phone’s settings, the languages included are French, English, German, Bengali, Hindi, Tagalog, Bahasa Indonesia and Bahasa Malaysia.
