Palm Pre Phone Lending an ear to this news may make users think high of Palm’s plans for this year. Well, the company has recently rolled out the webOS 1.3.5.2 update for users in Europe. The new firmware update bundles together the collective enhancements of 1.3.5 and 1.3.5.1 updates for offering an enhanced user experience.

The main improvement that webOS 1.3.5.2 brings forth is related to the App Catalog, which now ensures to offer an improved user experience when it comes to downloading applications. Users can now witness and enjoy new app downloading features, including the possibility to manually pause, resume, and cancel downloads, background downloads, and better search results.

Additionally, users can download multiple apps simultaneously and take advantage of the full storage capacity of the phone for downloading apps. This provides users more control over how to allocate the handset’s storage space across apps, music, photos, and other media. Downloaded apps are now stored on the phone’s USB drive.

Further, the App Catalog lists search results based on an improved search algorithm. On lighter front, features such as calendar, date & time, device information, email, messaging, regional settings, screen & lock, security and updates have also been enhanced for delivering a truly immersive mobile experience.

Moreover, the new software solution will proffer users faster switch between days in calendar, new email account features, improved battery life, the possibility to download new OS updates over a 2G (1xRTT, GPRS, EDGE) connection, support for animated GIFs in the browser, a fix for playing .3g2 files, and more.

A security fix to the dev portal is also comprised in the new OS flavor.
