Ok, here arrives something really interesting to rivet eyes on. According to the official Ovi Blog, Nokia N900 users can now try out the beta release of Ovi Store with a collection of hand-picked content, including apps developed particularly for Maemo 5. Users can now find the Store on the main menu of their phone.

Once inside the store, users will discover the applications developed expressly for Maemo 5 and the Nokia N900 ranging from Foreca Weather and Documents to Go to Pixelpipe, Evernote and Bounce Evolution. To elaborate on ‘Documents to Go’, the app lets users view native Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and email attachments right on their phone. Its integrated multi-level zoom feature allows users to zero in on the desired part of a document.

Concurrently, the company is planning to introduce more new and exciting apps and games in the Store that includes some of users’ favorite Symbian-based content along with new items designed exclusively for the Maemo 5 operating system.

Further, developers who want to build apps for Maemo 5 and the Nokia N900 can visit the Forum Nokia Maemo area to learn more about development tools, APIs, and tips and tricks for developing this platform.
