Palm Eos, ultra-thin smartphone on its way?

Palm Logo While we are anxiously waiting for the Palm Pre smartphone to arrive, a full description of its follow-up model has already emerged. Engadget reports that the company is rumored to launch its second webOS phone called the Palm Eos which will be thinner than its predecessor and is built as a replacement for the Centro.

Measuring 111x55x10.6mm, the phone is reported to sport a 2.6 inch capacitive touchscreen display and a QWERTY keyboard with a thin design. It is believed to incorporate a 2 megapixel camera with flash and video recording capabilities.

Apparently, the Palm Eos will also include A-GPS capabilities and support Bluetooth connectivity. This smartphone is speculated to offer SMS, MMS and IM client to stay connected with friends and family. Moreover, it is reported to integrate a music and video player for entertainment and comes with a 4BG memory on board.

According to the rumors, the Eos will include an 1150 mAh battery which is slated to offer 4 hours of talktime. Though the phone will offer enhanced features but on a sad note, it will not support Wi-Fi connectivity.

There is no word on its availability, but Tech Crunch reveals that the smartphone will be available via AT&T at an estimated price of $99. Reportedly, the Palm Eos is priced at $349 before rebates.
