Just yesterday, we penned a post about Sony Ericsson UK offering Android 2.1 update by September end. However, O2 Dell Streak owners residing in UK needn’t wait long as it appears that the carrier will bring Éclair or Android 2.1 to the device by September 1, 2010. The Android Community has revealed that the network operator intends to upgrade its users from the very first day of September.
This seems to be great news for UK subscribers, but what about Streak owners in the U.S.? The handset was unveiled by AT&T back in the month of August and is said to currently ship with the Android 1.6. The Éclair upgrade would be quite enticing however we know most mobile aficionados out there are just waiting for their smartphones to get updated with the all new Android 2.2.
With this O2 offering coming loaded with an Android 2.1, users may be able to leverage on the OS for a better and enhanced smartphone experience. Nothing official has hit the streets as yet.
