Nearly 67 percent of the respondents were influenced by the carriers when picking a phone. Just one among ten users chose a mobile phone depending on the platform like Google’s Android or Apple’s iPhone. While their content interests may variate, respondents were also seen to opt for phones that have multimedia capabilities as a primary attribute.

With 45 percent respondents on the prowl for multimedia functions such as music, video and camera, 32 percent watch out for GPS navigation while 26 percent kept access of social networking sites high up on their list. Interestingly 29 percent users wish to outplace their landline phone and 26 percent look at being Wi-Fi enabled. eCommerce purchases from mobiles feature among the wish list of 15 percent of users. A 15 and 14 percent response was seen for activities like downloading a movie and playing games respectively.

Best Buy also offers to help users comprehend their contract situation with its recent consumer education campaign namely the Upgrade Checker campaign.
