Nokia slides the covers off Lumia 925 and 625 in Chennai, India

The Nokia Lumia 925 and Lumia 625 have been officially released in India at a launch event held in Chennai. Both devices were already listed on multiple online retailers and had hit pre-order status in the country as well. The Finnish manufacturer has also let out the official price details of both smartphones.

First up is the Nokia Lumia 925, a Windows Phone 8-based smartphone that has been fitted with an 8.7MP PureView rear-facing camera. Another 1.2MP snapper is perched on the front panel just above the capacitive AMOLED display. This screen of 1280 x 768p resolution offers a multi-touch real estate of 4.5 inches. And as a film of Corning Gorilla Glass 2 has been reinforced on it, the device is capable of resisting scrapes and scratches.

As for the internal working of the device, it is carried out under the supervision of a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor that can clock in a speed of 1.5GHz. The chip seeks assistance from 1GB of RAM. A 2000mAh battery has also been thrown into the mix and the device provides 16GB of onboard memory.

The Nokia Lumia 625 is the biggest Lumia till date and is the proud owner of a 4.7-inch multi-touch display. It is equipped with a 1.2MP webcam, a 5MP camera and a 1.2GHz dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. The device tags along 512MB of RAM, 8GB of onboard memory and a microSD card slot that can be used for expanding the memory further.

The Nokia Lumia 925 carries a price tag of Rs 33,499, while the Lumia 625 costs Rs 19,999.
