Nokia Lumia 525 to be unveiled on October 22 with Lumia 1520, 929 phablets?

Apart from two high end phablets, Nokia is also planning a budget-oriented Windows Phone dubbed the Lumia 525. And if you haven’t guessed as yet, the handset will be the successor or probably the replacement, to the Lumia 520 which has been one of the most successful smartphones from the Finnish manufacturer this year.

The Lumia 525 was initially known by its codename Glee, but pro leaker, @evleaks has only recently managed to get his hands on the official branding. Judging by the internal moniker kept for the phone, the company could market the device as a music-centric addition. According to The Verge, Nokia might also throw in a few special accessories including headphones like it did in the past.

Where specifications are concerned, there’s nothing concrete about the Lumia 525 as yet. @evleaks has retweeted a link which leads to a GFXBench listing that is allegedly of the handset in question. Dubbed Nokia RM-997, the device is powered by a dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus processor and it runs on the Windows Phone platform. We suspect that the screen size will be the same as its predecessor, while the resolution which is 480 x 800p WVGA has been divulged by the benchmark suite.

The report notes that the Lumia 525 will be unveiled along with the other 6 devices Nokia has lineup up for the event on October 22. They include the 1520 and 929 phablets with 1080p screens and 20MP PureView cameras, a Windows RT tablet and a few accessories.

When launched, you can expect the Lumia 525 to carry a price tag that’s not much different from the 520 handset.
