The Nokia Drive 3.0 update is out for Windows Phone 7 Lumia users who aren’t too good with asking other people for directions. Claiming to offer much more that mere navigational guidance, it is compatible with the Lumia 610, Lumia 710, Lumia 800 and Lumia 900.
The navigation app comes with a range of abilities like turn-by-turn assistance while on the road, automatically tweaked display settings for various lighting conditions and the ability to pin destinations for easy access to them. With regards to the first feature, users can employ the Nokia Drive update to locate places and find new routes to get there. It can even be employed as a travel guide of sorts.
“We have recently mentioned why we are going to offer Nokia Drive to all Windows Phone 8 partners and why Nokia is basically the world’s largest mapping company that continues to build momentum by rapidly and constantly improving its location-based applications. Today we are excited to introduce an update to Nokia Drive, validating that if you have a Nokia Lumia you don’t have to wait for Windows Phone 8 to enjoy the following new features,” states a post on the Nokia Conversations blog.
Not only does the app provide traffic alerts, but it also points out other alternative roads to save on time in case of jams. Just pinning a favorite destination is enough for convenient access to viewing directions. This feature incorporated within the updated application is said to have received the most number of requests.
Like we’ve already noted, the Nokia Drive 3.0 update is ready for Windows Phone 7 Lumia devices. Customers can pick up the upgraded application via Windows Phone Marketplace within a day or so.
