Google Nexus S Jelly Bean

The wait will soon come to an end for those eager to get their hands on the Nexus S Jelly Bean update as it has hit a list of network providers like H3G, Rogers, O2, T-Mobile and Vodafone. However, Motorola Xoom tablet users will have to hang around a little while longer for good news related to its release.

The last news JB we reported was about Vodafone temporarily freezing up on plans to introduce Australian users to the upgrade. It apparently doesn’t match the regulatory requirements put forward by the country. As per the latest update, this hottest dollop of Google’s mobile OS will be available in most countries.

“We’ve started rolling out Android 4.1, Jelly Bean, to Nexus S phones on a number of carriers including T-Mobile, H3G, O2, Rogers as well as Vodafone in most countries, with more to come. Enjoy! ,” reads a post on the official Nexus page on Google+.

For those unfamiliar with the JB OS, the platform throws in the ability to act on missed calls or send an email right from the new notifications panel. Another prominent highlight is the Google Now app that provides weather, traffic, sports and even commuting details. The onscreen QWERTY keyboard is equipped with improved text-to-speech abilities to enhance the user experience in terms of texting. Then there is the Gesture Mode that helps navigate through the UI via gestures like touch and swipe blended in with speech output.

So happy weekend to all those Nexus S users who’ll welcome the Jelly Bean update soon enough.
