New iPad shipping date shifts to March 19

New iPad Release Date U.S.

Apple has postponed the shipping date of the new iPad from March 16 to March 19. While this is the case for the U.S., the UK shipping schedule for the slate has been delayed by 2 – 3 weeks.

Unveiled in the U.S. on March 7, the fresh Apple slate date of release was originally announced as March 16. The company had started accepting pre-orders for it since the day of its debut. Meanwhile, the UK launch was moved to March 19.

While the slate is still up for pre-order in both these countries, the concerned U.S. Apple Store page says that it will now be pushed out on March 19. A recent post on The Next Web suggests that the reason behind this delay may have something to do with Apple selling out the first online batch of the new iPad, which was reserved for pre-order purposes.

It is also being reported that the Cupertino company tends to allot a larger set of its products for its physical stores, as compared to retail partners like Radio Shack and Best Buy. It can be estimated from this possibility that the manufacturer has exhausted the first shipment of the recent iPad. This might lead to the change of release date for users who decide to pre-order now. Apparently, early adopters will still be getting their tablet on the previously specified time.

The new iPad shipping date for customers who pre-order it now will be March 19. It can be grabbed for a minimum price of $499 for the 16GB Wi-Fi variant.
