Sony Xperia S jumps aboard Three UK

The Sony Xperia S has recently expanded the line-up of Android phones offered by Three UK. Prior to this, the new handset was also made available by the online retailer Clove.

One of the first gadgets to be released as a part of the Xperia NXT series, the Xperia S is a 144g device sporting a slate form factor. It is equipped with a 4.3-inch capacitive touchscreen which displays images in a resolution of 1280 x 720p. The mineral glass screen is also adorned with scratch resistant qualities. Although the smartphone originally operates on the Gingerbread OS, an Ice Cream Sandwich update is said to be on the cards for 2Q12.

“With a striking display, this is an ideal smartphone for those looking for high-definition entertainment. Plus, as the only network to offer all-you-can-eat data on both Pay as you go and Pay monthly, Three customers can enjoy all of the rich content that YouTube, BBC iPlayer and Spotify have to offer without ever having to worry about data limits,” explained Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three.

Embedded with a 12MP Exmor R for mobile CMOS sensor, the Xperia S also boasts of attributes like LED flash, auto focus, 16x digital zoom and more. Incorporated with 1GB RAM, the device also offers 1GB to 1.5GB of internal storage as well as 32GB eMMC flash memory.

The Sony Xperia S price tag for Three UK reads £369.99. It is being offered with several data plan options. Pay monthly customers can grab this one at £30 a month or £36 a month on The One Plan.
