Rewind is a social app that will earn you more frenemies than friends

A new app named Rewind has just come to the fore, and it has its functionality aimed towards letting you keep sharing photographs with your friends throughout the day. Yes, and these shared pictures won’t be available for them to view for a long time, as they’ll vanish exactly after 24 hours.

Described as the ‘quickest way to capture and share the moments of your life with friends, family and more,’ this new application is available only for iOS users as of now. And apart from the iPhone, the iPad and the iPod Touch, it can also be grabbed for the Apple Watch.

If you’re a viewer, you can get to see the most recent 24 hours of someone’s day and even what they are doing at this very moment. And if you’re the poster yourself, the Rewind app gives you an extremely simple method to share your day’s happenings.

Firstly, it does not let you grab pictures from your Camera Roll, and asks you to click them using the Rewind camera strictly. Swiping up on its camera viewfinder captures as well as shares the photo at the same time. This is a patent-pending little piece of technology that the makers of this app have come up with.

According to TechCrunch, in order to follow a user on Rewind you need to add their username manually, but the developers are currently working on adding address book support as well. The app can easily be compared to Snapchat, but the fact that its photos stay for 24 hours is what distinguishes it from the said utility.

Those interested in trying out Rewind on their iOS devices can head over to the Apple App Store right now to download it for free.
