The Netflix app for Android is expanding its market by adding an update which now makes it compatible with the Honeycomb version of the operating system as well. Along with this, the service which was limited to the U.S will now extend to incorporate Canada and Latin America as well.

With the aforesaid update for the existing app which will support Android Honeycomb, Netflix fans can now enjoy on the go entertainment on their tablets as well. This internet subscription service provides access to a variety of TV episodes and movies.

“We are excited to now offer the Netflix service on tablets running Android 3.x and are thrilled to offer our members in Canada and Latin America another way to enjoy TV episodes and movies streaming from Netflix,” expressed Greg Peters, vice president of product development at Netflix.

“With the added support for Android-powered devices, Netflix members have greater flexibility than ever in watching TV episodes and movies wherever and whenever they want. We’re always looking to provide members new ways to enjoy Netflix,” continued Peters.

It currently operates across an array of devices like PC, Mac, internet-connected TVs, game consoles, Blu-ray disc players, and mobile devices. And Netflix is now set to expand its user base by extending its reach to the regions of Canada and Latin America.

The latest version 1.5.0 of the Netflix for Android app is available free of cost. It can be downloaded from the Android Market.
