NASSCOM comes up with task force for making India a cyber security hub in the future

The National Association of Software and Services Companies or NASSCOM as it is better know, has announced the setting up of a task force aimed at making India a global hub for providing cyber security solutions to the world. This force will also be responsible for cyber security research and development moreover.

It has been revealed that this new cyber security team from NASSCOM will comprise of a skilled workforce of experts in the domain. Rajendra Pawar, who happens to be the chairman of NIIT, has will act as the head of this task force, whereas its other members include prominent personalities from the IT industry, user organizations like banks and telecom companies and representatives from the government and academia.

Emphasizing on the fact that securing the cyberspace has become a priority for governments, businesses and citizens from all over world over these days, Rajendra Pawar said that the vision of this hub is in line with the prime minister’s idea of making India a cyber security expert nation. NASSCOM chairman Mohan Reddy has also expressed his thoughts on the matter.

According to a press release, he has said that this new task force will actually study the cyber-security ecosystem in order to identify issues and develop an action plan to address them. It will also have its focus set on the four pillars of industry development, policy enablement, technology development and skill development.

The goals of this new NASSCOM task force include building a cyber security industry in India and having a 10 percent market share by 2025. It moreover, also hopes to have a trained base of one million certified and skilled cyber-security professionals and about 100 security products across the country.
