My Contacts Backup now available via U.S. Cellular and Asurion Mobile Applications

US Cellular Asurion Logos In this fast paced world, protection of data is of prime importance. To safeguard the contact details of users, U.S. Cellular in association with Asurion Mobile Applications launched the My Contacts Backup for smartphones. The backup solution was previously introduced on more than 75 handsets.

The My Contacts Backup facilitates users to create and share groups of contacts with other U.S. Cellular subscribers. Users can now form groups of friends, colleagues and family members in their contact lists and even share it with others. Incase the user updates the contact list, changes are forwarded to all those who share the contact list.

Steve Pretre, general manager for Asurion Mobile Applications, remarked, “Asurion Mobile Applications is committed to strengthening the connections between people and unlocking what users can do with backup technology. With My Contacts Backup, a parent can create the family address book and share it with their family members so everyone always has the most updated contact information on their phones. Or, a small business owner might share an employee and customer directory with a select group and every update made to that list is automatically shared. It’s all about connecting users with the information they need and improving relationships.”

“With free My Contacts Backup our customers have peace of mind knowing their contacts are automatically backed up and protected. The expansion of My Contacts Backup onto smartphones means more of our customers can take advantage of this great application,” mentioned Alan D. Ferber, chief marketing officer at U.S. Cellular.

The application is developed on Asurion Mobile Applications’ next-generation Mobile Solutions Platform (MSP 2.0). When a subscriber replaces a lost phone, My Contacts Backup application automatically restores the contact list on the new phone. All the functions of the backup solution are performed wirelessly without the requirement of a PC.

Via U.S. Cellular’s official website users can view, organize, edit, and print their contacts through their computer. Further, subscribers can import Microsoft Outlook, Outlook Express and Yahoo! Contacts and guard their privacy if their handset is lost, by erasing their contacts online through their handset. Interestingly, users need not shell out a single penny to avail this service.
