MovieTickets and Foursquare collaborate to debut new events feature

MovieTickets And Foursquare Foursquare has partnered with MovieTickets for the launch of its new feature dubbed Events. Besides checking in, Foursquare events enables users to share which movies they are watching and converse with other attendees.

The aim of this coming together of the two companies is to provide Foursquare users with MovieTickets.com’s offerings and allow convenient sharing of movie showtimes and summaries. The new feature will supposedly simplify the process of buying movie tickets by letting users navigate to the ticketing website purchase page within the foursquare application.

Joel Cohen, CEO of MovieTickets.com said, “It is a privilege to work with a leading site like foursquare to provide its users with a way to easily research movies. We take great pride in MovieTickets.com’s accessibility to provide moviegoers with an efficient way to purchase tickets and look forward to sharing our platform with a greater audience through this partnership.”

Foursquare has collaborated with ESPN as well as Songkick to offer users details of information regarding the sporting world and various concerts. Through this new feature, users can now check into various events and are not restricted to checking in only at places. It is said that they will be able to check in to more than 50,000 events within a few months. These events can be seen posted on the website a few hours before its commencement and information like the location and venue will be automatically included.

The Foursquare events feature is now available to iPhone users who have downloaded the company’s application. It is scheduled to arrive soon on other mobile platforms as well.
