Motorola unveils Clutch i465 with push-to-talk technology

Motorola has a penchant of developing phones for heavy text users, the company has recently announced a new handset called the Motorola Clutch i465. It is the first phone in Motorola’s iDen line up that features the push to talk technology.

Sporting a unique design, the i465 meets military-grade specifications and can withstand solar radiation, vibration, shock and dust. The phone promises to satisfy the messaging needs of both serious texters and callers with its full QWERTY keyboard with shortcut keys and software upgrades.

The push-to-talk technology works like a Verbal IM which will keep you connected constantly. It integrates an IM-style texting feature which makes it easy and comfortable to respond and follow the message stream.

The Motorola Clutch comes with a 1.7 inch TFT display and a 3 megapixel camera with video recording capabilities. This candybar supports Bluetooth, SMS, MMS, email, and threaded messages. While the phone comes with 20 MB of internal memory and a 2.5mm audio jack, there is no information about the memory expansion support.

Additionally, the i465 phone is powered by 1130mAh battery which provides a talktime of upto 205 minutes and a standby time of upto 100 hours.

The Motorola Clutch i465 will be available through Boost Mobile in Q2 of 2009. The pricing details are yet to be announced.
