The official Motorola blog recently announced that the Motorola Razr Developer Edition is now up for pre-order in Europe. Aiming to serve those interested in unlockable bootloaders, this smartphone is scheduled to debut in the U.S. within the next few months as well. According to the blog, the handset enables the company to fulfill its carrier and regulatory obligations as well as serve the developer community.

After developers are done buying this handset, they can go through the Motodev website which contains all supporting information for relocking, unlocking and locating build files. It will also provide them with access to additional developer resources. This version of the Motorola Razr comes integrated with an unlockable bootloader and now joins the ranks of the Motorola Xoom Wi-Fi tablet and UMTS gadgets which have already been incorporated with unlockable bootloaders and are currently available.

The Developer Edition will boast of all the same features that its original counterpart possesses. These include a 4.3-inch 540 x 960p Super AMOLED Advanced qHD touchscreen display with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass and an overall build constructed from laser-cut Kevlar fiber. Running on the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread OS, it is equipped with an 8MP main camera featuring auto focus, 8x digital zoom and geotagging capabilities.

The Motorola Razr Developer Edition price reads €499 and it is now available for pre-order online at the Motorola Shop in Europe. It is expected to arrive in the U.S. through Motodev within the next few months.
