Users who are considering opting for Micromax smartphones or tablets will be glad to know that the manufacturer has joined forces with Opera Software, owing to which the Opera Mini web browser will now come pre-installed on all its devices. Although the partnership has been announced now, the OEM had already been offering the third party application on some of its gadgets.
The Canvas 4, Doodle 2 and Canvas Fun series phones are some of the recently unveiled devices which feature the said app. This decision has been taken because there has been an increase in the number of people who are browsing the web on their cell phones. Manoj Gupta, Head, VAS, India and SAARC, Micromax Mobiles says that the company wishes to offer superior browsing experiences by means of the application. The OEM has been trying to strengthen its product and services portfolio and this seems like a step in the direction.
Android is the second most preferred platform by Opera Mini users in India and a statistics report of August 2013 has revealed that as much as 228 percent increase was noticed in the number of Android subscribers who opted for the browser. 21 percent Opera customers use it on their Android devices and around 13 percent of those own Micromax phones.
Those opting for the said application can expect fast browsing speeds as well as a smart and social web experience. A data savings page has also been thrown in for keeping users informed about their data usage. Opera Mini can be downloaded on other Android devices for free through the Google Play store.
