Android 4.2.2 update flutters onto HTC Butterfly in India

Since its launch in India back in January this year, the HTC Butterfly has been making do with the 4.1 version of Jelly Bean, and it is only today that the company finally announced a 4.2.2 update for it. This software brings with it HTC’s famed Sense 5 user interface, and can be downloaded now, as mentioned in a Tweet by HTC India.

BlinkFeed is the most important highlight of this update, apart from all the 4.2.2 goodies of course. The said feature acts as a hub for news and social network content, and provides you with a constant feed of the same. It was first introduced through the HTC One. The HTC Zoe trait however, hasn’t been included in the update.

One of the prime aspects of Android 4.2.2 is the quick settings menu which gives you toggle switches for important functions such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC and more. Moreover, this Jelly Bean version also allows you to place widgets on your lock screens.

The HTC Butterfly is a 5-inch device that grants you the benefits of a full HD display. Its runs on a 1.5GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro quad core processor which is backed by 2GB worth of RAM. An 8MP main camera finds its way onto the phone’s rear surface, whereas its front is graced by a 2.1MP webcam. It is offered in India in the form of a 16GB option, but bears a microSD card slot on it.
