Micromax is eying European markets, to enter Russia later this month

We already knew that Micromax plans to go global, but we hadn’t thought it will be able to achieve this feat this month itself. Apparently, the company representative itself has confirmed that Micromax products will be launched in Russia on January 24. And it will then expand its horizon to include various European countries.

Year 2014 is proving to be pretty lucky for Micromax already. It is one of the first India mobile makers to have showcased its products at the CES and now we hear that the OEM is all set to go globe-trekking. The dual-booted LapTab was launched at the expo and this device is likely to lead the way for all other smartphones and tablets in regions outside SAARC.

This information was shared with the Times of India by the OEM’s co-founder Rahul Sharma. He says that Micromax has already hired a few executives in Russia and is looking forward to setting up a local office in the region. The conglomerate will be following the same strategy, which is to introduce low-cost phones.

The company in question is currently the second most popular smartphone manufacturer in India and is closely following Samsung which holds the first position. And the co-founder has also revealed that it doesn’t feel threatened of mid-range devices by established companies, for example, the Motorola Moto G. Micromax seems pretty confident about its position in the Indian market.
