The Micromax Canvas Tab P680, the latest entry in the company’s series of affordable tablets, has been launched and will retail for Rs 9499. The device can be purchased through online and offline stores starting from August 22.
It’s a more costly variant of the P690, its predecessor. The specifications between the two largely remain the same, except that the Micromax Canvas Tab P680 now has 16GB of internal storage, as opposed to the 8GB found in the previous version. The new voice calling tablet also has dual-box speakers on its back.
It further carries a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek processor, a change from the 1.3GHz (turbo up to 1.83GHz) Intel Atom SoC found in the previous variant. Going into its other features, the Canvas Tab P680 has an 8-inch IPS WXGA 1280 x 800 pixels screen and is the first in the series to run Android 5.0 Lollipop out-of-the-box.

This dual-SIM Micromax tablet contains 1GB of RAM and a 4000mAh battery. Its memory capacity can be further expanded up to 32GB using a microSD card. It sports a 5MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2MP fixed-focus webcam on its front. Connectivity options include 3G, GPS, USB OTG, microUSB 2.0, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
