The Micromax Canvas Infinity has officially gotten unveiled after weeks of social media teasers promising a bezel-less smartphone. As expected, the handset features an 18:9 aspect ratio, fitting a large 5.7-inch panel onto a smaller body.
However, the display sports a 720 x 1440p resolution. This might be seen as a serious drawback by many who would prefer at least a full HD resolution considering how big the screen is. Still, the Canvas Infinity’s narrow-bezel design could appeal to people who want to buy phones like the Galaxy S8 and LG G6 but don’t want to break the bank while doing so.
That’s probably Micromax’s target audience, with the brand directly aiming for the entry-level market sector using a Rs 9999 price tag. At that rate, the device’s closest rival is the Rs 14990 LG Q6, another budget option with a Full Vision 18:9 screen. There’s also the Redmi Note 4 which starts at Rs 9999 and offers a standard 5.5-inch 1080p panel.
Other than the focus on cutting down on bezels, Micromax is also hoping to attract selfie lovers with a 16MP front-facing camera. The unit has been blessed with an aperture of f/2.0, 5P lens, and selfie flash. A 13MP shooter sits at the back, accompanied by LED flash and f/2.0 aperture.
