The much awaited Micromax Canvas HD A116 release date has finally been declared, trimming down the piling curiosity a tad. Fit to be called a superfone according to the company, the handset has been the subject of a plethora of attention ever since its existence was announced.
One of the significant highlights of the device includes bagging a MediaTek MT6589 chipset with 4 Cortex A7 cores, each ticking at a speed of 1.2GHz. But by the looks of it, the device will be vying for attention against the Karbonn S1 Titanium which also happens to have a quad core CPU and falls under the affordable smartphone category.
The integrated 8MP camera explains the slight bump that can be seen on the flipside. It packs features such as auto focus, an LED flash, face detection and geotagging. The VGA front-facing webcam will moreover allow users to carry out video conferencing over either Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n or 3G.
The IPS LCD display of the A116 that extends as much as 5 inches diagonally possesses a resolution of 1,280 x 720 pixels. With Android 4.1 laying claim over so many devices, the relevant smartphone too will be joining the clan. Besides 1GB of RAM, there exists an onboard storage capacity of 4GB which can be further expanded up to 32GB through a microSD card.
Additionally, a few sensors along with a 2,100mAh Li-ion battery will be spotted on the device. The information which hadn’t been revealed earlier, but has now come to the fore is that the phone has been built to support dual SIMs.
The Micromax Canvas HD A116 will be setting foot in online and retail stores across India on February 14, 2013. As predicted earlier, its price will amount to Rs. 13,990. And Saholic has proclaimed its intentions to stock the handset in hues of black and white upon its release.
