The Micromax A240 seems all set to replace the Canvas 4 as the company’s flagship device, or so say the rumors that are doing the rounds on the internet. And that’s not the only handset that is currently grooming itself in the Micromax stables, a certain Canvas Doodle 2 is also speculated to be receiving finishing touches.
Sources familiar with the matter got in touch with the folks at AndroidOS.in, who not only confirmed the existence of the Micromax A240, but also mentioned that interested users can look forward to an official announcement likely to be made as early as next week. However, the unidentified source of the news is clueless about the exact availability details of the smartphone.
The OEM has taken inspiration from companies like Samsung, Sony and LG amongst others to come up with a beast of a device. This phone’s front panel will be adorned with a 5.7-inch HD 720p display and a 5MP webcam should also be thrown into the mix. On flipping over the gadget, potential buyers will find a 12MP camera with LED flash.
Based on the Android Jelly Bean 4.2 OS, the dual SIM gadget operates with the assistance of a 1.2GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589 processor and 1GB of RAM. 16GB expandable onboard memory and a 2,600mAh battery will also be present within the confines of the handset. And as far as the Doodle 2 is concerned, MMX Newscaster has tweeted a bunch of stuff through its official account and it definitely makes us believe that the device is indeed in the works.
