Nokia Bandit is reportedly the rumored 6-inch smartphone

It looks like Nokia Bandit is the name given to the device that we had spoken about last month, stating that it will be showing off a 6-inch touch display. However, we are still trying to wrap our heads around the moniker that Nokia has apparently presented the handset with, even if it’s only a codename. Is the smartphone like meant to steal our hearts or something?

At this point we can’t really be certain about anything that spills out concerning the purported device. But there’s no harm in amusing ourselves by looking at the latest grabs that have surfaced. According to a post on The Verge, the gadget is reportedly crafted out of the polycarbonate material and is said to be slim as well as lightweight.

Nokia Lumia Series

The aforementioned post has added that the phablet has been built around a 6-inch touch display holding onto a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution (nothing new here). But it also speaks of a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor with a four core configuration, forming a part of the device.

If proven true, this could be a clear indication of the Windows Phone GDR3 update’s involvement, which has been developed to support both the features. With the entry of the platform’s latest version comes an extra Live Tiles column on the Start screen, a rotation clock and more.

There may also be quite the chance that after targeting Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom with its Lumia 1020, the Finnish manufacturer is now sculpting a rival for Sony’s much-hyped Honami. The Nokia Bandit it seems, plays host to a 20MP camera which has been seated on the handset’s back surface.

Rumors are that the Bandit is presently being tested at AT&T and should show up towards the end of this year.
