Memo tablet introduced for the elderly niche

Aiming to help older citizens in day to day tasks and keep them informed at all times, is the newly launched Memo tablet. This mobile device claims to serve as a reminder assistant for elderly users dealing with short-term memory loss so that they feel confident enough to live independently.

Introduced by MemoTouch, this mobile device uses the Android OS and enables families to provide reminders to their venerable members for managing daily activities efficiently even if they reside far away. For senior citizens who often suffer from loss of memory, it becomes a difficult situation to execute day to day tasks like taking medicines or keeping appointments and so on. The Memo tablet can be employed to gently remind users about executing these activities on time.

“Memo establishes an entirely new product category of memory assistants designed to reduce the confusion and loss of independence caused by memory impairment. Memo is your assistant that can be there when you can’t, to remind your loved one of important tasks.” explained Merilee Griffin, Ph.D., president of Memo Touch.

Riding on an Archos 101 10-inch 1024 x 600p touchscreen tablet, this device leans on an Internet connection to function. The integrated Memo program overrides the existing software on the slate so that elderly citizens do not get tangled up in the various applications, menus and websites. To work with this device, users are expected to possess just the very basics in computer skills and first timers should be able to conveniently handle it with a little guidance.

The Memo tablet is now available online at memotouch.com and comes for a price of $299. Users have to pay an additional sum of $174 for a six-month subscription or $300 for a 12-month subscription to the companion caregiver website.
