Registrations for the Meizu MX5 have started and the phone will be up for purchase on August 26 exclusively through Snapdeal. The handset will be sold starting from 10am via an open sale till stocks last.
It’s the same day the company plans to host an event in New Delhi to mark its official brand launch in India. The company is yet to reveal pricing details for the Meizu MX5. Its Chinese variant came out two months ago and starts out at CNY 1800 (approx Rs 18500). It comes in three different versions of 16GB, 32GB and 64GB.
The main highlights of the MX5 are its fingerprint scanner and octa-core 64-bit 2.2GHz MediaTek Helio X10 processor, neither of which are commonly seen in devices at the mid-range level. Going into its other specs, it sports a 5.5-inch full HD super AMOLED screen and runs on Flyme OS 4.5 based on Android 5.0 Lollipop.

The dual-SIM Meizu smartphone houses a 20.7MP main camera with dual-tone LED flash and laser autofocus. Selfies can be taken with its 5MP front lens which has an aperture of f/2.0. It contains 3GB of RAM and a 3150mAh battery, which the manufacturer claims can charge up to 60% within 40 minutes using mCharge technology.
