Those who shop at the Meizu Flyme Store may be interested to note that it has surpassed approximately 100 million app downloads. The store has been serving a horde of facilities to owners of the Meizu smartphones that are well known in regions like Hong Kong, China and more.

As per the facts put forth by the company, a person going by the name Zeying Mao, from Tianjin, laid hands on the 100 millionth app from the virtual store. Being the user to have downloaded the 100 millionth app, Mao is entitled to receive 10,000 yuan in credit which can be spent in the online portal.

“Before launching M9 in 2011, the Flyme Store had around 10 million downloads. One year later, we broke through the 100 million barrier. Following the release of the MX, the rate of new downloads is accelerating even more. We want to create a better environment for our developers. Previously, we gave away 10 million yuan in Flyme Store credits to our users when we launched paid apps, working hard to cultivate the acceptance of paid apps in China,” commented Eddy Lin, Flyme Store Product Manager.

The Flyme Store was launched way back in November 2009 to extend the app options for Meizu phone users. The initiative was taken to provide customers with a wide range of mobile applications. Notably, the team has also given developers an opportunity to create their own software via its very own SDK. The apps can be designed to integrate smoothly with Meizu hardware and the Flyme UI too.

As mentioned on Engadget, the Meizu Flyme Store now provides above 10,000 downloads categorized into 13 types such as lifestyle, multimedia, games, transportation and other newly launched themes.
