This new solution will offer users the convenience to transfer money in the United States from one person to another with utmost ease and safety. MasterCard has now released the MoneySend service for BlackBerry smartphones which precisely blends the power of a mobile device with a banking relationship.
The service enables users to send or request money through their BlackBerry handsets. This is mainly done through participating banks and credit unions or when users create a virtual prepaid account via Bancorp Bank. Further, users can link their existing debit or credit cards or bank checking account to the new virtual prepaid account.
“MasterCard MoneySend allows users to ‘Send,’ ‘Pay’ or ‘Request Funds’ for a wide range of reasons including the everyday ‘IOU,’ informal services purchased from friends and family, or payments to a personal trainer, roommate, babysitter, gardener, housekeeper or repairman,” commented Andrew Ong, Group Head, P2P, MasterCard Worldwide.
The particular account funds the transaction, while users can seamlessly manage and carry out exchanges through the app. Users need not worry as personal and financial data is never saved on the handset.
“We are excited to extend MasterCard MoneySend to the Blackberry Smartphone platform so that we can continue to provide consumers with innovative ways to make their lives easier,” Andrew added.
Users can accept credit or debit card payments and effortlessly send money to family members. Owners can pay for informal goods and services and request money from people who owe money. The Request Funds feature enables users to simplify business or non-profit collection effort. The service helps users manage transaction history fromt heir handsets and also invite others to use MoneySend through e-mail within the app.
The service can now be downloaded for free from the BlackBerry App World. Specific Bancorp Bank fees will be applicable.
