LG Prada sales cross 1 million mark

LGprada 2One of the leading mobile manufacturers, LG Electronics Inc, it appears is basking in self glory. And why shouldn’t it? Its distinct partnership with global design house Prada seems to have bestowed the company with profits galore.

The sales of LG Prada have apparently hit the one million units mark after the phone debuted in Europe way back in March 2007. More than 1 million handsets in 18 months – that’s quite an achievement we must say. The handset later saw the light of day in South Korea, Japan and other parts of Asia, as well as in Central and South America.

This expert’s reveal should pave the way for the Prada II handset. The new Prada phone is expected to reach European stores around the fourth quarter of 2008. We are expecting a Christmas release.

In case you missed out on the LG Prada II when it first started circulating the internet, it is rumoured to have a slide-out keyboard, touch-screen controls, dual-band HSDPA, a 5-megapixel camera with flash and VGA recording, Bluetooth 2.0, Wi-Fi, a motion sensor and FM radio.

Most phones are getting quite lost in the smartphone market actually as the bar for these devices is pretty high. There are no details on the US release of the LG Prada II mainly due to the predominance of T-Mobile’s G1, Apple iPhone and Research In Motion’s latest BlackBerry’s in the smartphone terrain.

So let’s hope the brand power of Prada clicks for the LG Prada II also.
