LG expects G2 to collect Rs 200 crore in sales revenue by 2014

The LG G2, the flagship phone from the South Korean company has been released in India only recently and we have heard that the company has a lot of expectations from it. Swoon Kwon, MD, LG India has himself revealed that the OEM wishes to collect about 150 to 200 crores in sales revenue from the device in question itself.

The said amount will hopefully be acquired by 2014 and the manufacturer hopes to gain a 10 percent market share around the same time. India is one of the fastest growing smartphone markets around the world and a report has suggested that close to 9.3 million mobile devices were shipped in the second quarter of this year to the country. Thus, it goes without saying that LG has plans of taking over a chunk of the market share by offering advanced gadgets like G2 in India.

Let’s quickly go through the key specifications of the handset. The phone belonging to the G series of devices has a 5.2-inch FHD IPS touchscreen and employs a 2.1MP webcam as well as a 13MP camera. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and operates with the assistance of the Android Jelly Bean platform. A user interface complete with proprietary features such as KnockOn, Guest Mode, Text Link, Slide Aside and more has also been deployed in the device.

The LG G2 has been tagged at Rs 41,500 in India and it already available for purchase. The company has set aside Rs 100 crore for global marketing as well as retail and channel expansion.
