Lava set to unveil Iris X series Android KitKat phones under Rs 8000

It’s tough being a smartphone seller in India when rivals like the Lava Iris X series Android KitKat smartphones are being launched for less than Rs 8000. The homegrown brand has been teasing us with hints as well as images of the upcoming device just in anticipation of the Moto E unveiling that took place today.

Lava is probably hoping to get the Lava Iris X1 ready for its debut as soon as possible and doesn’t want everyone to be looking only at the new Moto smartphone. In the mean time, Microsoft has brought in the Lumia 630 with a prayer that you will consider it too before making a buying decision.

Lava Iris X1

The Lava Iris X series handset is said to work on Google’s Android 4.4.2 mobile OS which goes by the nickname KitKat. We’re expecting it to embed a Snapdragon processor from Qualcomm and a quad core one at that, if it actually hopes to compete with the Moto E. The smartphone will apparently have a 4.5-inch display to make the upcoming Moto with its 4.3-inch screen look less impressive in comparison.

Lava Iris X specifications available so far:

– Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS
– 4.5-inch touchscreen
– 8MP main camera
– Front facing lens present

And from the pictures we’ve seen so far, a front facing snapper will be present above the 4.5-inch panel. We wish we could give you more information, but this is about it.

The Lava Iris X series is widely anticipated to make its entry within this week itself. We’ll update you with its release and exact price details as soon as these are rolled out.
