Kyocera envisages to offer LTE and Android handsets

Kyocera Android Logos Now-a-days Android phones are gaining popularity among handset manufacturers, and the Japanese company Kyocera now joins the league. Recently, Kyocera announced its plans to offer two handsets which includes an Android powered device and an LTE phone.

According to UnwiredView, the manufacturer has been associated with smaller US operators like Virgin Mobile, MetroPCS and Cricket. Additionally a dual-mode CDMA/LTE device is also scheduled for 2011. Further, the company plans to employ Android and other operating systems as platforms for its future LTE products.

The network carrier is not yet finalized for the LTE handsets. Seemingly, MetroPCS is expected to be an appropriate choice. Kyocera has not revealed any further specifications or the price range of these handsets. But like the other Android devices, even Kyocera’s tentative handset will feature touchscreen and multimedia capabilities.

Apparently, the forecast of the CDMA/LTE phone is an appropriate move from the Japanese manufacturer at the time when one of its network partners Verizon Wireless is in the midst of deploying an LTE network over its existing CDMA network.

Reportedly, the Android driven phone is expected to be introduced in 2010.
