It seems that Spotify is trying to diversify its services. A recent report from TechCrunch states that Swedish telecommunication service provider Telia will soon release a Spotify-branded mobile phone.

Apparently, the phone will be developed by the UK based INQ. It is believed that through partnerships, the handset may be released in different markets via other carriers. INQ has been developing affordable phones with integrated social networking services such as Windows Live Messenger, Skype, Gmail, Twitter and Facebook.

Spotify offers a downloadable music player that allows users to access streaming songs from major and independent labels. The music streaming application provider offers services on the iPhone, Android and Symbian S60 platforms. Presently, the INQ handset is still in the design stage. We wonder how Spotify music application will be integrated into the INQ handset and what will be the device’s USP.

There is no official word about the handset’s pricing or launch date. Apparently, it will be offered in Sweden.
