Konami to release quintuplets for mobile phones

Konami Quintet title

Konami Digital entertainment is all geared up to release five new mobile phone titles this year. The series headed for the handset comprises of New Frogger, Silent Hill, Hellboy, Dewy and PES titles. Latest IPs will make their mobile debut and the quintet will also star classic Konami characters.

The first title in the series is the Frogger Music Beats n Bounce. The novel Frogger adventure title features an ambitious hero. Taking his agility to an all together different level, the hero brings a musical twist to this title. With the beat of the in-game music, Frogger travels in time through various roads, swamps and forest locales.

The progress of the Frogger depends on the timing matched by a player. A better timing will give the player additional rewards in the shape of edible bugs and butterflies. The Frogger Music Beats n’ Bounces has 10 challenging stages and is a new beginning in the admirable hero’s lengthy gaming career.

The next title available is the mobile version of Konami’s popular Dewy’s Adventure. The game is based on a cute water droplet in colourful fantasy world who must rescue his friends from the evil Don Hedron. In search of his friends, players need to steer Dewy across 3D locations. Confronting Don Hedron’s evil allies Dewy’s Adventure is perfectly suited to the mobile sector. Thanks to Dewys watery nature, he is blessed with a number of special powers like expanding into a wave to submerge foes, transform into a thunder cloud to electrocute anything in his path, or freeze into a solid block of ice and simply roll over all in his path. The game is simple and retains the effective gameplay of its original Wii version through an intuitive and slick control system.

Hellboy Mobile is the next addition to the Konami portfolio. Bringing Mike Mignola’s demonic anti-hero to handsets in August, the title spans 12 large interactive stages. The player navigates Hellboy in his attempt to destroy the crazy schemes of his evil nemesis, Hermann Von Klempt. The game requires Hellboy to use his ‘Right Hand of Doom’ as New York is attacked by a bizarre army of inhuman assailants. With an array of weapons, in the Hellboy series mythology, the horned hero must also combat ancient Indian spirits, Shamans and evil Mystics to save the Big Apple.

One of video gaming’s most horrific and chilling franchises in the mobile gaming market is the Silent Hill Mobile 2. The game is based in the smog-shrouded town’s decrepit hospital with a twisting plot. The progress of the game will see two parallel plots gradually entwining. Players must gear up to use a clever point’n’click interface to decode a range of puzzles. Combating hideous creatures as the game moves ahead, the player is drawn into a dark, macabre world brought to vivid life by the game’s incredible visuals and eerie music and effects. The title should be released around September.

The final title is the much anticipated mobile version of Konami’s PES 2009 football title to be launched in October alongside the home versions. After PES 2008 saw huge success, the new edition will now sport multiplayer capabilities via Bluetooth with a refinement of last years one-button control system. The PES 2009 is a highly functional football game featuring an enhanced goalkeeper AI, new stadiums coupled with a selection of unlockable bonuses and training challenges in addition to varied national and club teams, and Cup and League competitions.

While the Frogger Music Beats n’ Bounces and Dewy’s Adventure are both available on the mobile, the Hellboy, Silent Hill Mobile and PES 2009 should see the light of day in August, September and October respectively.
